Preparing for a Newborn Photoshoot

Preparing for a newborn photoshoot can be an exciting and daunting experience for parents. As a parent, you want to capture every moment of your newborn’s early days, and what better way to do that than through a professional photoshoot? If you’re in Downers Grove area and are looking for a photographer to capture your newborn’s first moments, look no further than Summer Brader Photography. Here are some tips for preparing for your newborn photoshoot with Summer Brader Photography:

  1. Schedule your photoshoot in advance.

It’s important to schedule your photoshoot with me in advance. Newborn photoshoots typically take place within the first two weeks of life, so make sure to book your session with Summer Brader Photography as soon as possible to secure a spot on their schedule for your due date. I only take 4 newborn due dates overlapping at a time for scheduling purposes.

  1. Choose the right time of day.

Newborns are often sleepier and more cooperative in the mid morning, so it’s best to schedule your photoshoot for earlier in the day. However, if your newborn tends to sleep more in the afternoon, I can work with you to find the best time for your session.

  1. Dress your newborn in comfortable clothing.

Your newborn should be dressed in comfortable, easy-to-remove clothing for the photoshoot. Avoid clothing with bold patterns or logos, as they can be distracting in photos. I also recommend having a few backup outfits in case of accidents or spills.

  1. Keep your newborn warm.

Newborns are unable to regulate their body temperature, so it’s important to keep them warm during the photoshoot. Have blankets and swaddles to keep your newborn cozy and comfortable throughout the session.

  1. Be prepared for feedings and diaper changes.

Newborns eat frequently and may need diaper changes during the photoshoot. Make sure to have plenty of diapers, wipes, and a changing pad, as well as any bottles or breastfeeding supplies your newborn may need.

  1. Relax and enjoy the experience.

Finally, remember to relax and enjoy the experience! I am experienced in working with newborns and will guide you through the photoshoot to ensure the best possible outcome. Trust in my expertise and enjoy watching your newborn being captured in beautiful photos.

Preparing for a newborn photoshoot with me in the Downers Grove area can be a fun and exciting experience. By scheduling in advance, dressing your newborn in comfortable clothing, keeping them warm, and being prepared for feedings and diaper changes, you can ensure a successful photoshoot. Most importantly, relax and enjoy watching your newborn being captured in beautiful photos that you will cherish for a lifetime.
