New business feature: Decor to Door of Downers Grove

Let’s welcome Nicole Cummings of Decor to Door to Downers Grove!

Nicole is brand new to the area and I’m excited to have her here. She opened April 2018 and provides seasonal front door decor for your home. Decor to Door offers multi seasonal subscriptions, as well as single season vignettes.

Nicole’s mission is to help homeowners beautify their home’s entrance while opening doors of opportunity for women survivors of sex trafficking and prostitution though living wage employment and access to a trauma informed work environment.

Nicole started the company after a midlife reset when her family moved here from Portland, OR. Not having any connections out here gave her lots of time to nest in their new home as well as contemplate how she wanted to spend the second half of her life. She knew she wanted to combine her eye for style and design with her passion for social justice issues, specifically survivors of human trafficking and prostitution. Nicole knew she could use her skills to build a socially conscious company that could provide a place of employment for a group of women who have very few choices. Decor to Door exists to open doors of opportunity for women survivors of sex trafficking and prostitution though living wage employment and access to a trauma informed work environment.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Nicole Cummings, the Owner of Decor to Door. She is such a delight and gave me a taste of her new company that I quickly utilized in my own home’s entrance. I was really impressed and I know I’ll be recommending her services to others!
