This Hinsdale family session was slightly different from my go-to shoots out at popular Dupage County forest preserves, but I loved the time with the Brumley’s so much! This beautiful and stylish shoot showcased 2020’s most popular locale: the home!
The Brumley family is the kind of family that is just plain fun to work with. And this year, it was no different. We scheduled their annual family photos in the comfort of their own home, and the results were pure magic. I had a blast capturing the kids on the trampoline, by the fire pit, and let’s not forget Mrs. Wigglebottom (the family Frenchie). Everybody was relaxed and carefree for this Hinsdale family session.
The Brumley’s opted for a timeless neutral palette for their clothing options, and the results are swoon-worthy– I love how the images (in color and black and white) scream classic and sophistication. And of course, they matched their French bulldog perfectly.
Hinsdale Family Sessions are Anything but Normal
Oftentimes people get caught up in the idea that family pictures should be an ordeal. And it’s true, with a Hinsdale family session, you may find that you’re purchasing outfits, picking locations, and getting camera ready. I love the Brumley session because it shows that a backyard is a perfect spot for beautiful pictures. Bonus? Backyard sessions take away some of a session’s moving parts.
Plus, I always love photographing families on their front porches. It’s a wonderful way to save the memory of a family home in a beautiful way.
If you feel overwhelmed about location options for your session, think about your home for the perfect backdrop for your photos. Many families actually prefer this spot to some of the traditional outdoor locations available.
It was so great to catch up, Brumley family! I am looking forward to next year’s Hinsdale family session already.
