I discovered my passion for photography almost by accident.
I actually hated having my photo taken so much that I figured out if I was behind the camera, I wouldn’t have to be in front of it! I taught myself how to use my camera and capture people as they are – beautiful and unique.
When I was raising my kids, I realized how quickly it all went by. I needed to freeze each moment as it whizzed by, and I fell head over heels in love with documenting life. Then, my friends and clients started growing their families, and I realized what brings me the most joy is documenting all the chapters of other beautiful souls. I have taken my passion for photography and made it my profession, delighting in capturing people’s nostalgic moments in their lives with classic portraits and lifestyle photographs. I’m lucky to photograph them as their family stories unfold, from maternity sessions to baby’s first year milestone sessions and then growing kids and beyond. Over the last 15 years of photographing children and families, I have learned that my favorite part of my job is developing lasting relationships with my clients. By the time we reach toddler years and beyond, I’m photographing friends!
To me, it’s not about the number of clients but the right clients. My most popular service is my hour-long portrait lifestyle session. Mothers-to-be also choose me for my complimentary maternity and in-home newborn sessions that are very popular. I will meet in a client’s home to create beautiful photos that do not disappoint. It is important to me that all women celebrate what their bodies are creating during and after creating these new little lives. My husband Eric and I live in Downers Grove, Illinois but I do travel from Chicago throughout the suburbs, as well as Cody and Jackson Hole, Wyoming a couple times a year for sessions and adventure! If you are out that way or headed out there, reach out to me for your unforgettable Wyoming session.
Tips in Choosing your Photographer
When choosing a professional photographer, I recommend choosing someone who communicates easily and is readily accessible. Your time is worth your money. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is…
Checking out a photographer’s online portfolio is another way to gauge the quality of a photographer. The photographs you see in my portfolio and in my sample galleries on social media are indicative of the photographs you can expect from your own session with me.
If you like what you see, I think you’ll be very happy with your our outcome together!
I look forward to the chance of meeting and working with you!
