I am so happy to be working with the Glatz family again for this Downers Grove newborn session!

A few months ago, Nick contacted me looking to surprise his wife with a maternity session. I am so grateful I have been able to work with them to document this amazing season of their lives! Their maternity session was a romantic outdoor session, but since the arrival of their precious bundle Michael, we were able to do some lifestyle photos in their home.

Whenever I get to work in somebody’s home, I savor the opportunity to document their real-life. Snuggled on the couch, keeping a watchful eye over his crib, these are the moment’s parents wish they could remember.

Plus, with a home as beautiful as the Glatz’s, why wouldn’t you want to take pictures there??

Isn’t it hard to believe that Allison just had a baby? She looked stunning in her off-the-shoulder top!

Downers Grove Newborn Sessions are Supposed to be Fun

I love that Nick and Allison made their session’s uniquely them. Of course, I think that Nick’s official “Dad-mode” outfit needs to be framed above a fireplace somewhere, but I also love all of the details they included as well.

Michael’s nursery was bursting will little details that I adored. From the books to the wallpaper, even his stuffed sloth! I imagine that he will look at these pictures one day and love to see all of his first possessions immortalized in these images.

Also, Nick playing the guitar!? I mean, really, how great is that?

Sometimes parents get wrapped up in the idea that Westmont newborn sessions are supposed to be perfect. But, I love it when they can relax and have fun with the shoot. The pictures will feel more like you when you let loose and have fun.

Congratulations, Nick and Allison, on the arrival of Michael! I cannot wait to watch him grow!
