Dan and Ashley Pontes wanted some fun and beautiful pictures for their Downers Grove maternity session. As lovers of national parks (when not living in a global pandemic, that is), they wanted their photos to be in nature. I had the perfect spot in mind for them.

Don’t you love how the rich colors of the foliage paired with Ashley’s navy dress just pop with Dan’s light button-down? Ashley wanted to showcase her bump, and her navy floral dress perfectly framed it.

I love how these images are the perfect mix of romantic and playful. Plus, the way the water reflects them and their surroundings frame them in such a beautiful way.

I am so grateful to have been able to spend this time with Dan and Ashley for this fun Downers Grove maternity session. I’m looking forward to meeting their baby in a few weeks!

Professional Doesn’t Mean Boring in these Downers Grove Maternity Photos

I work hard with my clients to make sure that they know their sessions should be a representation of them!

Gone are the days of printing staged family photos to display over the fireplace. I love to capture real life, real smiles, and love when my clients want to have fun.

Since Dan and Ashley love the outdoors, it only seemed fitting to have them get in the water and splash around a little bit. I love how natural their smiles are. You can tell they’re having fun in these shots. Since Dan and Ashley haven’t had professional pictures done before, these playful shots were a great way to ease any nerves and capture some great images in the process.

When planning your upcoming session, always think about how to bring in elements of your family’s personality. That way you can enjoy them for years to come. Who knows, maybe you will even display them over a fireplace.
